Bhooth Bangla Worldwide Box Office Day 2: Akshay's Film Holds Steady In Overseas Amid Dhurandhar 2 Wave
Bhooth Bangla Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 2: Bhooth Bangla, the new Akshay Kumar horror comedy directed by Priyadarshan, released on April 17 worldwide. The film opened on a large number of screens in India and overseas. Despite strong pre-release chatter, early international box office figures were below expectations for this scale. The project has gained attention because Bhooth Bangla brings Akshay Kumar back to the horror comedy space after five years. Fans are also curious about the fresh pairing with Wamiqa Gabbi, as this is the first time Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi have worked together.

Another major talking point is the reunion between Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after 14 years. Their earlier collaborations had drawn strong interest from Hindi film audiences. Bhooth Bangla continues that association, with Priyadarshan leading the film as director and returning to a genre that mixes humour with supernatural elements. Bhooth Bangla features an ensemble cast alongside Akshay Kumar and Wamiqa Gabbi, including Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar and Jisshu Sengupta. For Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla is the second horror comedy made in Bollywood. The film also signals Priyadarshan's comeback to Hindi cinema after a five-year gap. The previous Bollywood release from Priyadarshan was Hungama 2 in 2021, which belonged to the comedy genre rather than horror comedy.

On the other hand, Bhooth Bangla made a total worldwide collection of Rs 61.50cr in two days of release.
Meanwhile, in a conversation with Bollywood Life, director Priyadarshan spoke about the comparisons between Bhooth Bangla and Bhool Bhulaiyaa and stated, "This is completely different because the only nostalgia you get is because of these actors. Otherwise, that was a psychological thriller (Bhool Bhulaiyaa) and Bhoot Bangla is complete fantasy, like, will it happen or not? It could happen, or it could not happen. Bhoot Bangla is inspired by what we have in our folklore, mythology and superstitions".
