Vishal Solanki On Essaying Lord Madhav In New Film

Solanki calls playing Madhav both challenging and a blessing. The actor shares, "What we know about Krishna through our religious epics is not enough to justify whole Krishna. Krishna is beyond our imagination, beyond our understandings, beyond our intelligence."

He adds that every portrayal is rooted in personal perception. "As an actor one can perform through some basic information and through what we have seen previously performed by someone else. That too is not real Krishna. Their performances were only their imagination of how Krishna would be. So playing Krishna by any actor is simply playing by individual imaginations, not portraying Krishna as it is."

For Solanki, the Bhagavad Gita became his guide. "Through his words I tried to understand what he is saying about life. When you understand what he has said in Gita, suddenly a smile comes on the face. I feel connected to Krishna, connected to what he is trying to say, and that helped me be a bridge between me and Krishna. I feel fortunate that he chose me to play his character. It's a blessing to perform him by him."

This isn't Solanki's first brush with mythological offers. "I got offers but rejected. I'm more interested in performing historic characters," he says, choosing to wait for the right script.

The actor is already a known face on Hindi television. He has been seen in shows like Parineetii, Naagin 6, and Kahani Pehle Pyaar Ki. His earlier TV journey includes popular dramas such as Kumkum Bhagya, Parvarrish, Chhanchhan, Desh Ki Beti Nandini, and Laxmi Sadaiv Mangalam, where he earned praise for playing complex and contrasting roles.

Beyond national TV, Solanki is a mainstay in the urban Gujarati film industry. He has headlined several films including Tension Thai Gayu, Andhakaar, and Kahi De Ne Prem Chhe, among others.

With Me and Madhav aiming for a Janmashtami release, all eyes are now on how Solanki brings his interpretation of Krishna to the big screen.
