Peddi (Hindi) Critic Review: Ram Charan Steals The Show But Here's What Disappointed In Sports Drama

Peddi (Hindi) Critic Review: Ram Charan's latest sports drama Peddi has finally reached cinemas across India, including the crucial Hindi belt. The film's opening in the Hindi market is drawing attention, as viewers there assess how Ram Charan's new release performs beyond its core southern base. Peddi is directed by Buchi Babu Sana and is positioned as a Pan India release. The film is arriving simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. This wide rollout aims to reach diverse audiences, while keeping the narrative rooted in a rural setting.

Peddi Hindi Critic Review

Ram Charan leads Peddi in the title role, supported by a strong ensemble. The cast features Shiva Rajkumar, Janhvi Kapoor, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu and Boman Irani. For many fans, the major draw is that Peddi becomes Ram Charan's first on-screen collaboration with Janhvi Kapoor. The trailer of Peddi created strong intrigue with its mix of intense sports sequences and emotional rural drama. Extensive promotions before release further amplified interest, especially among Hindi-speaking viewers curious about Ram Charan's new outing. With theatres now screening Peddi, the scale of that pre-release buzz is finally being tested. On the other hand, critics have shared their review of the Hindi version of Peddi.

Peddi (Hindi) Critic Review

In a viral tweet shared by renowned critic Taran Adarsh, "#Peddi rests largely on #RamCharan's shoulders, and the actor delivers a sparkling, stunning, award-worthy performance... It's a physically demanding role that also demands a high emotional quotient - not an easy combination to pull off - but #RamCharan is simply smashing".

What's Best In Peddi (As Per Critic)

He gave Peddi a rating of 3.5 stars and revealed what's good in the movie stating, "A sports drama needs awe-inspiring moments, and #Peddi certainly delivers on that front... The cricket matches in the first half, the kushti training sessions and competitions, and of course, the penultimate race sequence are all exceptionally executed. Dr #ShivaRajkumar is fantastic, #JagapathiBabu is rock-solid, while #Divyenndu delivers a competent performance". #BomanIrani, #RaviKishan, and #UpendraLimaye lend solid support. #ARRahman's music works well, with #Chikiri standing out... The background score is electrifying, while #RRathnavelu's cinematography is top-notch... The #Hindi dubbing is very good".

What's Disappointing In Peddi (As Per Critic)

On the other hand, talking about the negatives in Peddi, Taran Adarsh wrote, "A sports drama with its share of highs and lows... Its biggest strength is #RamCharan's memorable performance + several terrific moments... Screenplay could've been tighter and the runtime shorter. The romantic track is a major letdown, while several sequences feel stretched and some seem unnecessary... A shorter runtime was the need of the hour. Even the item song in the second half evokes strong #Pushpa vibes, which wasn't really required".

He was further disappointed by Janhvi's stint in Peddi and emphasised that her character "deserved stronger writing and a more impactful presentation". Taran Adarsh concluded stated, "The buzz for #Peddi in the #Hindi markets is currently on the lower side, and its boxoffice prospects will depend heavily on positive word of mouth... The #Telugu version, meanwhile, is expected to dominate the business."

Meanwhile, during an event, director Buchi Babu Sana lauded Peddi lead actress Janhvi Kapoor and asserted, "We are all huge admirers of your mother, Sridevi garu. Janhvi has played Achayamma beautifully, and hers is one of the most important roles in the film. Her performance in the climax is outstanding. There is a strong sense of heroism in her character, and I am grateful that she became part of this journey".
