Empuraan Evening Occupancy Report (Malayalam) Day 7: Mohanlal's Movie Sees Further Dip In Footfall By 28%

Empuraan Evening Occupancy Report Day 7: Empuraan becomes the most-talked about Malayalam films of the year after the film emerged to be highest-grossing Malayalam movie beating Manjummel Boys. After opening the domestic box office with Rs. 21 Cr, the movie has reportedly collected Rs. 250 Cr gross worldwide beating Manjummel Boys which earned Rs. 225 Cr earlier. The movie also marks Mohanlal's return to the silver screen after his directorial Barroz failed miserably. The movie, which is the sequel of Lucifer (2019), revolves around a fictional tale of Gujarat riot that took place in 2002.

Apart from Mohanlal, the movie also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, who has directed the movie, apart from them, the movie also stars Rick Yune, Jerome Flynn, Caroline Koziol, Andrea Tivadar, Tovino Thomas, among others. Coming to the box office report, the movie has witnessed whopping 28% dip in footfall on day 7 before wrapping up week 1.

Empuraan has 40.92% occupancy in the evening on day 7. The movie has seen around -28.21% dip in footfall compared to day 6 when the occupancy was 57%. Even in terms of morning and afternoon occupancy, the movie has seen a dip in footfall. While in morning, the occupancy was 39.21% on day 6, on day 7, it decreased to 21.75%. On the other hand, the afternoon shows saw 52.01% footfall on day 6, while it decreased to 31.39% on day 7.

In terms of overall occupancy, Empuraan has had 51.35% overall footfall in Malayalam version on day 6. But on day 7, the movie has seen 31.35% Malayalam occupancy as per the early updates of Sacnilk.

The dip in footfall has also affected the box office collection on day 7, as the movie has witnessed almost 50% loss in overall collection compared to yesterday, as per the early updates.
