Drishyam 3, which marks the reunion of Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph, is also touted to be the final part of the franchise. The plot of the ambitious film has now left the cinephile curious.

Recently, a screengrab from the official website of Phars Films, the overseas distribution partner of Mohanlal's highly anticipated film, started doing rounds on social media. Interestingly, the new post has revealed the most awaited Drishyam 3 plot. It is now safe to assume that the Malayalam superstar and director Jeethu Joseph are reuniting for a darker third installment.

"Georgekutty (Mohanlal) is not just protecting his family from the world, but he is also protecting them from the truth, and from the burden of what binds them together. Now, as new forces begin to close in, more organized and determined than ever before, the cracks in his carefully built calm start to widen," reads the leaked plot summary of Drishyam 3.

"The threat is no longer just external; it presses against his conscience, his relationships, and the fragile normalcy he has tried so hard to create. And as the walls slowly tighten around him and his family, how much more is Georgekutty willing to sacrifice," further adds the social media post, which has now taken the social media by storm.

Jeethu Joseph About The Drishyam 3 Story

Earlier in an interview with a leading Malayalam daily, director Jeethu Joseph had dropped some exciting insights to the Drishyam 3 story. According to the celebrated filmmaker, the third installment is similar to the first part of Mohanlal's much-loved franchise, in terms of its storytelling. Just like Drishyam, which hit the theatres in 2023, Drishyam 3 is expected to be a slow-burn thriller with lots of family drama.

Along with Mohanlal, who reprises his iconic character George Kutty in Drishyam 3, the other principal cast of the franchise including Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, and others are returning to play their respective roles. Satheesh Kurup is the director of photography. Anil Johnson composes the music score for the film, which is slated to be released on April 2, 2026.
