Amaran Surpasses Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT Earnings In Tamil Nadu: Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, 'Amaran' is an action war biographical film based on the life of the late Major Mukund Varadarajan, played by Sivakarthikeyan. The movie was inspired by 'India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military' written by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. Sai Pallavi played another author-backed female protagonist's role in the film, marking her first collaboration with the actor and director.
The movie was made on a budget of Rs 200 Crore with Sai Pallavi playing a solid role again. Kamal Haasan bankrolled the movie under his production banner Raaj Kamal Films in association with Sony Pictures Films India.
The movie earned a massive Rs 220 Crore in India alone, becoming the seventh highest-grossing Tamil film in history. The movie continues to enjoy a steady theatrical run even after its third week.
