TVK Chief Vijay Trichy Speech Highlights Slams DMK BJP

According to a report by News18, Vijay accused the current ruling establishment of widespread corruption and governance failures. Addressing supporters gathered in the city, he alleged that financial irregularities under the present administration ran into thousands of crores. He also pointed to shortcomings in public infrastructure, particularly in government schools, stating that even basic amenities such as toilets remain insufficient in several institutions.

During his speech, Vijay urged voters to reconsider their trust in established political players. He criticised both the DMK and the BJP for what he described as unfulfilled promises, suggesting that their commitments have not translated into meaningful change on the ground. "We will form an honest government. Give me one chance," he said, positioning his party as an alternative to the existing political setup.

Vijay Files Nomination From Second Seat In Trichy East

Earlier in the day, Vijay formally submitted his nomination papers from Trichy East, where he is set to face incumbent DMK MLA Inigo S Irudayaraj. This marks his second constituency in the fray, having already filed his nomination from Perambur on March 30. In Perambur, he is expected to contest against DMK candidate R D Sekar, in what has traditionally been a politically significant seat.

His arrival in Tiruchirappalli saw a notable turnout, with party workers assembling in large numbers to welcome him at the airport before accompanying him for the nomination process. The gathering underscored the visible mobilisation by his party cadre in the region.

Tamil Nadu is scheduled to go to the polls in a single phase on April 23 across all 234 constituencies, with vote counting set for May 4. The electoral contest is expected to be primarily between the DMK-led alliance and the AIADMK-led National Democratic Alliance, with Vijay's party entering the fray as a new contender.
