Neel Samarthh: Opening Up Doesn’t Make You Weak, It Makes You Stronger

Actor Neel Samarthh who is currently seen in Sabse Bada Rupaiya on Atrangii, will soon be seen in the web series Rose Garden talks about real issues especially when it comes to men's mental health. With June being observed as Men's Mental Health Awareness Month, the actor feels this conversation should not be limited to one month only. "I think it's very important that we talk about men's mental health," says Neel. "Many times, men are told to be 'strong' or to 'man up,' so they hide their pain. But mental health is just like physical health. If something is hurting inside, we must speak about it and get help."
He adds that it's a good sign that the world is waking up to this issue, but there's still a long way to go."I'm happy that we now have a whole month to spread awareness. It's a step forward," he shares, "but we need to talk about it every day - not just in June."
Talking about his own journey, Neel admits he wasn't always open with his emotions."Like most guys, I used to keep everything inside and act like everything's fine," he reveals. "But over time, I realised that opening up doesn't make you weak - it makes you stronger."
He believes men need a safe space where they won't be judged."If a man cries or says he's feeling down, people should support him - not laugh at him," says Neel. "We need more stories, shows, and even conversations at home that teach boys it's okay to feel sad. Change begins with small steps."
