Ikkis OTT Release: When And Where To Watch Agastya Nanda’s War Biopic Online

Ikkis (2026) is a biographical war drama directed by Sriram Raghavan. The film tells the inspiring true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, who laid down his life at the age of 21 during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. The movie also marks the final on-screen appearance of legendary actor Dharmendra.

Ikkis is directed and co-written by Sriram Raghavan, along with Arijit Biswas and Pooja Ladha Surti, and produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films. The film stars Agastya Nanda as 2nd Lt. Arun Khetarpal, PVC, and legendary actor Dharmendra as Brigadier Madan Lal Khetarpal. The ensemble cast also includes Jaideep Ahlawat, Simar Bhatia (in her debut role), Rahul Dev, Sikandar Kher, Vivaan Shah, Asrani, and Suhasini Mulay in important roles, portraying key figures from the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War.

Released on 1 January 2026, Ikkis received praise for its storytelling but struggled at the box office due to tough competition from other big releases. Made on an estimated budget of ₹60 crore, the film earned around ₹35.35 crore net in India, with a gross of ₹41.71 crore domestically and ₹3.50 crore overseas, taking its worldwide total to ₹45.21 crore. As per final reports, it failed to recover its production costs and was considered a losing venture commercially.

Ikkis was released in theatres on 1 January 2026. The film is currently available to rent on Amazon Prime Video and will be available for all subscribers to stream from 26 February 2026.

Ikkis is a non-linear biographical war drama based on the life of Arun Khetarpal, the youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, who was martyred at the age of 21 during the 1971 Indo-Pak War. The film moves between two timelines, 1971, where a young Arun (played by Agastya Nanda) shows exceptional bravery during the Battle of Basantar and refuses to abandon his burning tank, and 2001, where his father, played by Dharmendra, visits Pakistan and meets a former enemy officer who reveals the truth about Arun’s final moments, leading to a powerful and emotional moment of respect and reconciliation.
