J. K. Rithesh (b. Mugavai Kumar) is an Indian actor and politician. He has acted in Tamil films. He is the grandson of Tamil Nadu Minister for Housing and Slum Clearance, Suba Thangavelan. His father is employed in the agricultural sector, whilst his mother is a housewife. Furthermore Rithesh has two elder sisters, Shanthi and Mani. Rithesh married Jodi in 2007 and has a son, Arik Roshan (b. 2008). His first film was Kaanal Neer, directed by Chinni Jayanth. Rithesh had helped produce the project but the film failed to become a success at the box office. His second film, Nayagan took a good opening at the box office, but after a few big releases, the film became an average grosser, however, Rithesh's portrayal was praised, with his fan base expanding. He was a Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Member of Parliament (MP) in the 15th Lok Sabha from Ramanathpuram constituency. Death Rithesh died due to sudden cardiac arrest while campaigning for elections at Ramanathapuram on April 13, 2019.
