Biography

Tovino Thomas is an Actor, Model,Film Producer who is prominent for his best knowns films like Mayanadhi, Minnal Murali,Godha,  Ennum Ninate Moidheen  and Guppy.  The actor made his first debut with ‘Prabhuvinte Makkal’ in 2012 and since then, he has acted in the movies like comedy,romancec and action. With astonishing acting skills and charming looks, the actor enjoys a massive fan following and is one ofthe  leading youth icons in Malayalam Industry. Personal Life Tovino Thomas was born to Ellikkal Thomas and Sheela Thomas in Irinjalakuda,Kerala.He belongs to a Christian family. His father  Ellikkal Thomas is an advocate. The actor has a  brother ,Tingston Thomas and a sister Dhanya Thomas and he is the second cousin of Actor Nivin Pauly. After completing  secondary education from St Mary's Higher Secondary School, Irinjalakuda , he moved to Tamilnadu to pursue Engineering. Tovin was active in sports during his college days and later, he got a job in an IT Company and worked for a  few years. Tovino married his long-time girlfriend, Lidiya in 2014 and the couple has two children, daughter Izza Thomas and Son Tahaan Thomas Career Life Tovino Thomas began his career as a model and he made his first debut in the film ‘Prabhuvinte Makkal in 2012.  Later, he acted in the the film Ennu Ninte Moideen in 2015. The film was a  super hit and his character Perumparambil Appu has grabbed the audience's attention in all mediums. In 2016, the actor appeared in the film 'Guppy' in a new avatar. The film was one of the best projects that helped Tovino Thomas become a leading superstar in the industry. Later, he played a significant role in the  romantic film 'Mayanadhi' helmed by Ashique Abu in 2017.His charming looks and stunning performance in this film he gained much appreciation and accolades. Since then, he acted in many popular movies like Theevandi,Godha,Oru Bhayanghara Kamukan,and  Marodana. Apart from playing roles in Malayalam, the actor appeared in the Tamil film 'Maari-2' in 2018. He played an antagonist role in the film along with Dhanush and Sai Pallavi. The film was a  commercial success at the box office. In 2019, he showcased a stunning performance in super-hit films like Uyare, Luca  and Lucifer. The three films are listed as the highest-grossing movies in Malayalam. Being an actor Tovino became prominent for his characters in the films. As a versatile actor, Tovino appeared in front of the audience in romantic, comic, and significant roles. His 2021 hit- list includes the films like  Kala, Kurup and Minnal Mural. The actor was last seen in the film Vasashi,he starred in the movie along with Keerthy Suresh Apart from being an actor, Tovino is a  producer and  worked as an assistant director for the film 'Theevram'. He launched his production company, Tovino Thomas Productions.He was the co-producer of the film Kilometres and Kilometres, which is directed by Jeo Baby in 2018 Awards & Recognition As a prominent young superstar in Mollywood, the actor garnered immense praise for his exceptional performances across various films. In 2022, he secured SIIMA awards for Best Actor in leading roles for his outstanding portrayals in 'Minnal Murali' and 'Kala'. Continuing his streak, in 2024, he was honored with the Best Actor Award for his remarkable performance in 'Adrishya Jaalakangal' at the 44th Fantasporto International Film Festival in Portugal.
