Abhishek Bannerjee Biography

Abhishek Banerjee is an Indian actor and casting director known for his versatile roles and powerful screen presence in Hindi cinema. Born on May 5, 1985, in Kharagpur, West Bengal, Abhishek moved to Delhi for his studies and graduated from Kirori Mal College, where he was actively involved in theater. His early exposure to acting and theater laid a strong foundation for his career in the film industry.

Early Career & Breakthrough

Abhishek began his career in Mumbai as a casting director, working on notable films like The Dirty Picture (2011) and No One Killed Jessica (2011). He later co-founded the casting company Casting Bay, which has cast for popular films and web series like Secret Superstar and Mirzapur. He played the role of Hathoda Tyagi in Patal Lok which created a huge impact among the audience. 

Acting Journey & Notable Roles

Abhishek made his acting debut with a small role in Rang De Basanti (2006), but it was his breakout role as Jana in the horror-comedy Stree (2018) that brought him widespread recognition and praise. Known for his expressive acting and comedic timing, Abhishek delivered a memorable performance that made him an audience favorite.

He continued to make waves with roles in hit web series and films, such as Mirzapur, where he played the menacing Munna’s henchman, Compounder, showcasing his ability to play darker, complex characters.
