Deb Mukherjee (1941–2025) was a veteran Indian actor and filmmaker, belonging to the prestigious Mukherjee–Samarth film family.
He began his film career in the 1960s with roles in movies like Tu Hi Meri Zindagi and Sambandh, and went on to feature in notable films such as Ek Bar Mooskura Do, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, and Kaminey.
In 1983, he also took on the role of writer, director, and producer for the action film Karate, starring Mithun Chakraborty.
Apart from films, Deb Mukherjee was known for organizing the North Bombay Durga Puja, a key cultural event in the industry.
He passed away on March 14, 2025, at the age of 83 in Mumbai after a prolonged illness, and his funeral was attended by several Bollywood celebrities.
